Nutrition

The irony of this passage is that I am currently in off season, and I feel a little fraudulent writing about good nutrition when two weeks ago I inhaled a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a grilled peanut butter and Snickers sandwich (please do inquire about that because it is just scrumptious).  But that is what I term a “treat” meal, and I typically plan those out because my goal after each competition is to remain within 10 pounds of my competition weight in order to make the next competition prep a little easier (and did I mention I’m vain; that’s kind of the real reason).

Before I go any further in my writing about nutrition, I must write a disclaimer.  I can only tell you what works for me and what I’ve seen work for other competitors and friends I have helped throughout the years.  Everyone is different in their needs, their end goals, and their genetic make up.  Ultimately, it is up to you to make the right nutritional choices that will get you to the place you are happiest with yourself.

After all, that is what is most important:  being happy with yourself.

More to come…
